This luxury 4* hotel is set in the beautiful Northumberland countryside, with panoramic views over the sweeping moorland and picturesque forests. Its 142 bedrooms match the elegance of the Edwardian building itself, and feature sumptuous views over Slaley Hall’s two golf courses. There is a myriad of health & beauty facilities, including a sauna, steam room, fully equipped gym, Jacuzzi, and a choice of treatments. There are 3 restaurants at Slaley Hall, including the Claret Jug clubhouse restaurant and fine dining in Duke’s Grill, all serving the best local produce. With the beautiful city of Durham and other attractions such as Hadrian’s Wall located close by, Slaley Hall golf breaks offer an unrivalled experience.

Golf Courses

Slaley Hall golf provides all golfers with a variety of challenges, as both courses are of championship standard and are kept in immaculate condition. Slaley Hall is also the host to the annual PGA European Tour Great North Open.

Hunting (De Vere Slaley Hall)

The Hunting course has been described as the “Augusta of the North”, with the rhododendrons, cherry and pine trees that flank the course providing a visually stunning backdrop to your round. At over 7,000 yards from the back tees, you can see why the course was chosen as England’s entry for the 2010 Ryder Cup. As well as the distance, the course requires you to think your way round, with plenty or risk/reward shots. The signature hole is definitely the par 4 9th, requiring a long, uphill 2nd shot to a viciously sloping green, and the 18th is an excellent finishing hole for those playing matchplay. With its colour and its challenges, the Hunting course is one of the most effulgent gems in the north of England.

Priestman (De Vere Slaley Hall)

Often regarded as the 2nd course at Slaley Hall, the Priestman is a fantastic course in its own right. Designed by Neil Coles and opened in 1999, it is already host to a European Seniors Tour event. The course is accommodating to big hitters, but with plenty of strategically placed bunkers and canny water hazards, it pays to think your way round rather than just bomb it long if you want to score well. The Priestman course is a fantastic addition to a Slaley Hall golf break.
